This month we have a look at the
beautiful aromas used in our new ranges Bay
Citrus and Angelica.
Lavandin
Lavandin is the name for a variety of
lavender that comes from a cross of English
and spike lavender. Commonly grown in
France, it dates from the 1820’s. Lavandin
has a remarkable balancing effect on the
nervous system, relieving anxiety,
depression and insomnia and encouraging
calmness and serenity.

Patchouli
The patchouli plant is a bushy herb reaching
two or three feet in height. obtained from
the leaves of a plant of the same name.
Popular in the 1960s possibly due to its
ability to instill peace, calm and love
while at the same time helping to clarify
problems.

Bay
The Bay (Laurel)Tree, is an aromatic
evergreen tree or large shrub reaching 10–18
m tall, native to the Mediterranean region.
The warm spicy fragrance of laurel leaf is
wonderful for relieving stress, anxiety and
hysteria.
Cedar
Although termed cedarwood oils, the most
important oils of this group are produced
from distilling wood of a number of
different junipers rather than true cedars.
Cedarwood is a calming and soothing oil that
is beneficial for all states of tension and
anxiety, instilling feelings of peace. This
is a great oil for meditation.
Vetiver
Vetiver is referred to as the 'oil of
tranquility' in India and Sri Lanka.
It
has a profoundly sedative effect on the
nervous system.
Jasmine
Jasmines are widely cultivated for their
flowers, enjoyed in the garden, as house
plants, and as cut flowers. A wonderful oil
for problems of the nervous system, lifting
depression and inducing optimism, confidence
and euphoria. Useful for counteracting
apathy and indifference.
Angelica
Root
This sweet "herb of the angels" is a member
of the parsley family. Grown extensively in
Europe. Known for it’s restorative
properties it is warming, comforting and
aphrodisiac!

Philadelphus
Very free flowering plant clothed with a
profusion of extremely fragrant,
creamy-white flowers in June and July.
